Emergency Notifications are activated by authorized public safety and emergency management personnel and will provide you with information related to severe weather response and recovery, evacuation or shelter-in-place notifications, after incident resources, and other information vital to your safety and well-being.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will I receive Weather Watches and Warnings?
- At this time only Tornado warnings issued by the National Weather Service will be rebroadcast through our platform. We recommend that you have a NOAA All Hazards radio and subscribe to weather watches and warnings through other services. If severe weather warrants a response and recovery effort, sheltering, or other services and aide updates will be shared through our alerting system.
Can I register my home phone?
- Published landline phone numbers and the numbers of people who have self-registered for the service are included. VoIP numbers can be registered manually.
I don’t have a landline; may I register a mobile phone?
- Yes, you may register a mobile number by following the register here link above or by texting ALAMANCE to 888777. This will allow you to receive SMS text messages. Will you leave a message or voicemail if I do not answer?
