The Alamance County Fire Marshal’s office provides a variety of progressive fire prevention services.
The Fire Marshal’s office is charged with the responsibility of enforcing the North Carolina Fire Code, which relates to fire prevention in structures. Periodic inspections are conducted on all structures except one- and two-family dwellings. Currently, the Alamance County Fire Marshal’s office conducts inspections in all unincorporated areas of Alamance County and assists the municipal areas of Elon, Mebane, Graham, and Haw River. In conjunction with periodic inspections, the Fire Marshal’s office also issues several different fire prevention permits. These include public fireworks display permits, blasting permits, and others.
The Fire Marshal’s office works closely with the Planning/Development/Inspections Division of the Alamance County Inspections Department to perform various inspections, review construction plans and specifications as well as issue certificates of occupancy.
