• WHAT IS THE FJC? The Family Justice Center is a secure place where victims of family violence can receive the support and assistance they need to be safe. 
  • WHO CAN USE THE FJC? The Family Justice Center recognizes that anyone can be a victim of domestic violence. We offer services to victims of domestic violence at any age, female or male, who have experienced, or been threatened with, physical, sexual, psychological or emotional abuse.
  • WHAT ARE THE HOURS OF OPERATIONS? The FJC is open for walk-in appointments Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Many of the partners at the Center provide 24/7 crisis response. If you are in immediate danger, please call 911 or Family Abuse Services’ 24/7 Crisis Line at 336-226-5985.
  • DO I NEED AN APPOINTMENT? No. You can walk in for services. You can also schedule an appointment if you would prefer.
  • WHERE CAN I PARK? Parking is available on Martin Street in front of the FJC, or in the parking lot behind it.
  • IS THE FJC ACCESSIBLE VIA PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION? Yes, the FJC is on the Purple Route of Link Transit. The closest stop is just down the street at Martin Street @ Graham Hopedale Rd. The regular fare fee is $1 per ride and $4 for a day pass. Discounts are available for military, seniors, students, the disabled, and Medicare card holders.
  • MAY I BRING MY CHILDREN WITH ME? Yes. We have a specially designed playroom for children.
  • WILL IT COST ME TO COME TO THE FJC? Services provided at the FJC are free of charge.
  • MAY I BRING A FRIEND FOR SUPPORT? Yes. However, when you speak with one of the professional staff, your friend may be asked to wait in the reception area.
  • WILL IT COST ME ANYTHING FOR LEGAL SERVICES? No. There are no fees for legal services at the Alamance County Family Justice Center.
  • CAN I GET ASSISTANCE IN FILING A CIVIL ACTION TO OBTAIN A PROTECTION ORDER AT THE FAMILY JUSTICE CENTER? Yes. Staff can assist you with filing a civil action to request an order for protection.
  • CAN I RETURN FOR ADDITIONAL SERVICES? Yes. We encourage you to take advantage of all available services.
