Alamance County Public Libraries offer a variety of Reference, Information, and Programming resources  to assist you with all of your information needs.

The staff of each branch of the Alamance County Public Libraries strives to provide for the information needs of the public, in person, through the ‘Mail’ on the lower right hand corner of the website, by email: reference.staff@alamancelibraries.org, or by telephone. Print, electronic and online resources may all be used to locate information. For extensive research, the staff will assist in searching for the information needed.

InterLibrary Loan Services

Materials not owned by any of the libraries of the Alamance  County Public Libraries may be borrowed via InterLibrary Loan Service.  To request ILL materials, individuals must have a valid Alamance County Public Libraries library card and are responsible for any fees charged by the lending library. If fees are involved, you will have the option to withdraw your request. Note: There is a limit of 3 requests at a time. See our InterLibrary Loan guidelines for more information.

Book Clubs

Book clubs meet once a month at May Memorial, Mebane, and Graham Public Libraries. Copies of the books are available for check out at the library.

Wireless Printing

Seed Library

Graham Public Library Seed Library

Our seed library is located just inside the library on the left when you enter from the lobby at the Graham Public Library.

You are welcome to browse the seed packets which are filed by type, then by variety. Please try to keep the seed packets in order to avoid confusion. Select the seeds you are interested in growing. Find out more here!

Local History and Genealogy Departments

The May Memorial Library maintains a Local History Collection which is accessible during regular library hours. Included in this collection are works on the history and genealogy of Alamance County and its contiguous counties — Caswell, Chatham, Orange, and Guilford. 

In addition, the branch libraries have small collections of historical and genealogical materials that are related to their geographical location.  Please call each branch for more specific information about their holdings.

The Local History & Genealogy Specialist works out of the May Memorial Library and may be contacted directly at reference.staff@alamancelibraries.org. Limited inquiries may be answered via mail if a stamped, self-addressed envelope is provided.
